Texan Hall

State of the art residence hall living

Students have privacy and interaction at Texan Hall. The 508 residents live in two-person units with private bedrooms and a shared seating area and bathroom. A snack preparation area with a small counter, sink, cabinets and micro-fridge units is in the shared area.

This three-story residence hall has a movie-style theater that seats 75 and a large common area that can be divided into three spaces during program activities. Each floor has laundry facilities, enclosed quiet study areas, vending machines and a lounge for socializing and recreation. Texan Hall is co-ed by unit, meaning that men and women may be neighbors, but not roommates.

Texan Hall is near the Massie Residence Halls, Junell Center and the Intramural Fields and is a short walk from most academic buildings. Texan Hall is No. 38 on the interactive map.

Two-resident units include:

  • A shared living room and kitchen and two bedrooms (double occupancy) that share an adjoining bathroom. Each bedroom has a separate sink and vanity area.
  • Walk-in closets.
  • Expanded basic cable TV.
  • Moveable beds, dressers, desks, desk chairs and living room seating.
  • One Ethernet connection per student for easy Internet and e-mail access.

Special note:

Texan Hall C and D 300 floors are designated the Honors housing areas. Students desiring to live in the Honors areas must meet at least one of the following eligibility requirements:

  • Be accepted into the Honors Program.
  • Earn a minimum ACT score of 27 or SAT score of 1200.
  • Graduate in the top 10 percent of their high school class.
  • Maintain a minimum 3.25 cumulative GPA.

Students not meeting the above criteria may be considered for assignment to the Honors areas in Texan Hall based on space availability and with the approval of the director of Residential Programs.
