Tutorial Assistance

Tutorial assistance for Chapters 30, 34/30, 32, 35 and 1606 is available to help with the cost of a private tutor. If a student attends school half-time or more, he/she can receive up to $100 per calendar month. This additional money is paid without any charges against VA Educational Benefits for students utilizing Chapters 34/30 and 35. However, students under Chapters 30 and 32 will be charged against their entitlement when they go over $600 in tutorial assistance. The maximum amount payable is $1,200. Students are responsible for paying their tutors and will then be reimbursed by the VA. Tutors must be approved through each academic department. Approval forms are available in the ASU Veterans Affairs Office.
