Search Update

The search committee for the position of Vice President for Student Affairs and Enrollment Management has selected three finalists for on-campus interviews, beginning Nov. 19 and continuing through Dec. 1.

The finalists are Brent G. Paterson, Ph.D., senior associate vice president for student affairs, Illinois State University; Dale R. Tampke, Ph.D.,  associate dean for undergraduate studies, University of North Texas; and Homer A. Wesley, Ph.D., vice president for Student Services, Mississippi University for Women.

Interviews are scheduled on campus as follows:  Wesley, Nov. 19-20; Tampke, Nov. 24-25; and Paterson, Nov. 30-Dec. 1.

The finalists were selected after telephone interviews by the search committee earlier in November. Sixteen applications were received for the position.

Position Description

The Vice President for Student Affairs and Enrollment Management (VPSA&EM) reports to the University president and is a senior executive level position responsible for leading the University’s Student Affairs and Enrollment Management division, overseeing enrollment growth and retention, and managing the auxiliary enterprises including residential life and its food services contract. The VPSA&EM will work with the president’s senior executive team, other key management members, and external stakeholders to help define, develop, communicate, and implement the University’s mission, long-term goals and strategic plan. In addition, the VPSA&EM serves as a liaison to the Texas Tech University System’s strategic planning group for recruitment and retention issues.

Supervisory Responsiblities

The VPSA&EM supervises unit managers as outlined in the accompanying organizational chart.
