Leadership Certificate Program

The Leadership Certificate Program at Angelo State University is in its infancy. Based on a similar program at the State University of New York-Geneseo, the LCP seeks to provide students with a wide range of leadership opportunities, hoping to assist ASU students to become well-rounded individuals who contribute both to the university and the community.

Beginning with the Bronze "Life Skills" Leadership Certificate, and adding more pieces to complete the "Bronze-Silver-Gold" progression, the LCP will give students the opportunity to develop their leadership experiences through a series of individual workshops. Additional activities such as leadership institutes and student mentoring will be added as the program matures.

ASU students can get started by following the link on the left and filling out the LCP Registration Form, then returning it to the Center for Student Involvement. As soon as the workshop schedule is announced, students will then be able to use the Session Registration link to sign up for individual workshops.

For Fall 2006, sessions will be offered on Tuesdays and Thursday during the long semester. Each hour-long session begins at 12:30 p.m. in the University Center, UC211.

Students who participate in the four required sessions (they'll be offered more than once, and again in the spring semester), four of the ten or so optional sessions, and satifactorily complete journal entries for those sessions will be awarded the Bronze Leadership Certificate at a special ceremony at the end of the spring semester.
