Career Counseling and Testing
Your freshman year is not too early to begin thinking about life beyond college. Begin your career exploration as early as possible.
What brought you to this particular site today? Are you:
- unsure of your major?
- considering changing your major?
- wishing to take a career assessment?
- wondering how a college major relates to specific occupations?
- exploring a career change or transition?
For these (and other) career related concerns, the Career Development office is a great place to start. Your exploration is a process. The process may involve career counseling, research, and self-assessment. Assessment tests are often one great tool to use in decision making by offering insight into your interests, needs, and values as they relate to occupations/majors. However, they are not magic and will not tell you what you should do for the rest of your life.
The primary assessments used by Career Development are the Strong Interest Inventory and the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI). You are required to meet with a Career Counselor prior to taking either or both of these assessments. Which, if any, you use will depend on your needs and what your career counselor suggests.
All of the services at the Career Development office are available for undergraduates, graduates, and alumni of Angelo State University at NO CHARGE.
