Fall Semester, 2009

August 3, Monday Last day for U.S. Resident Students to apply for undergraduate admission for the Fall Semester.
August 15, Saturday Registration closed for financial aid processing.
August 17-21 Registration open for add only.
August 20-21, Thursday/Friday New International Student Orientation
August 21, Friday by 5:00PM Payment due for the Fall semester or classes will be cancelled. Payment may be made in person, by mail, or via the web.
August 21, Friday at 9:00 a.m. Residence Halls open for check-in.
August 24, Monday Classes, schedule changes and late registration begin. International Student insurance deadline.
August 27, Thursday Last day to register or make schedule changes.
August 28, Friday by 5:00PM Payment for late registration or schedule changes due by this date or classes will be cancelled. Payment may be made in person or via the web.
August 31, Monday 1st 8-week Session Census Day. See Withdrawals & Refunds for more information.
September 1, Tuesday 1st 8-week Session "W" period begins.
September 7, Monday Holiday
September 9, Wednesday Regular Session Census Day (12th Class Day). See Withdrawals & Refunds for more information.
September 10, Thursday Regular Session “W” period begins.
September 25, Friday Last day to withdraw from a 1st 8-Week course.
September 26, Saturday Family Day
October 1, Thursday Second installment payment due for the Fall term.
October 10, Saturday Homecoming
October 12, Monday 2nd 8-Week Session registration.
October 16, Friday 1st 8-Week Session ends. Midterm. Last day to file applications for graduation by candidates who expect to complete degree requirements in December 2009.
October 19, Monday 2nd 8-Week Session classes begin.
October 26, Monday 2nd 8-Week Session Census Day. See Withdrawals & Refunds for more information.
October 27, Tuesday 2nd 8-Week Session "W" period begins.
October 29, Thursday Last day for a partial or total withdrawal from the University for the Regular session.
November 2, Monday Third installment payment due for the Fall semester.
November 13, Friday Last day for graduate students to schedule the Comprehensive Examination or thesis defense.
November 20, Friday Last day for graduate students to take and pass the Comprehensive Examinations. Last day to submit the thesis to the Graduate Dean.
November 20, Friday Last day to withdraw from a 2nd 8-Week Session course.
November 26-27, Thurs/Fri. Thanksgiving Holidays
Nov. 30-Dec 4, Mon.-Fri. Laboratory Examinations. No examinations in lecture classes.
December 1, Tuesday Final installment due for the Fall semester to avoid a late fee.
Dec. 7-11, Mon.-Fri. Final Examinations. Fall Housing Contract ends. Residence Hall students not officially participating in graduation ceremonies must check out of their room within 24 hours of their last final.
December 11, Friday Last day to pay on any outstanding balance for the Fall Semester to avoid a $100.00 late fee.
December 15 Deadline to submit Housing Deposit Refund or Exemption Request information with all supporting documentation for the Spring 2010 semester.
December 12, Saturday Graduation
December 13, by Noon Residence Hall check-out deadline for students officially participating in graduation ceremonies. All Residence Halls close at noon for the break.
December 22, Tuesday at 5:00pm University closes for the Winter Break.
December 23-January 1, 2010 University closed for Winter Break

Spring Semester, 2010

November 2, Monday Last day for International Students to submit undergraduate or graduate application and all required documents for the Spring Semester.
November 2, Monday Schedule available for advising.  Students should contact the Department of their major for academic advising.
November 9th, Monday Pre-Registration opens for currently enrolled Graduate Students, Seniors, and Post-Baccalaureate students.
November 11, Wednesday Pre-Registration opens for currently enrolled Juniors.
November 16th, Monday Pre-Registration opens for currently enrolled Sophomores.
November 18th, Wednesday Pre-Registration opens for currently enrolled Freshmen & Non-Degree Seeking undergraduates.
November 23, Monday Pre-Registration opens for all students (New, Re-Entry, and Continuing).
December 1, Tuesday Last day for U.S. Resident Students to submit graduate application and all required documents for the Spring Semester.
December 8th, Tuesday Bills available online for the Spring term.  NO BILLS WILL BE MAILED.
December 14, Monday Last day for U.S. Resident Students to apply for undergraduate admission for the Spring Semester.
December 15 Deadline to submit written cancellation and refund request of your Housing Deposit for the 2009-1010 academic year.  Cancellation requests received after deadline will result in forfeiture of the deposit.
December 15 Last day to submit a request for exemption from the ASU Housing Policy, with all supporting documentation for the 2009-2010 Academic year.
December 22, Tuesday University closes at 5:00 p.m. for Winter Break
December 23 – January 1, 2010, Wednesday – Friday University Closed for Winter Break (Pending Board of Regents Approval)
January 4, Monday University Offices Open for Spring Semester

February 19, Friday Last day to withdraw from a 1st 8-Week course.
February 23, Tuesday                         OR                                               February 24, Wednesday                                                    Additional Mandatory Student Teaching meeting for any student planning to student teach for the Fall 2009 semester.  Sessions begin at 1:30 p.m. in the U.C. Room #110-111.  Please note:  student teachers must attend only one of the meeting times listed.
February 23, Tuesday Student Teaching Application Opens
March 1st,     by 5:00 p.m. Second installment payment due for the Spring term.
March 12th, Friday 1st 8-Week Session ends.
