Comedy Night at ASU Club Café

The stand-up routines of New York-based comedian Dan Ahdoot will highlight the final fall semester installment of Angelo State University’s Club Café coffee house entertainment series Wednesday, Nov. 28, in the Houston Harte University Center.

Ahdoot will take the stage at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 28 in the University Center’s C.J. Davidson Conference Center. Admission price is $1 and all those who attend will receive a free Club Café coffee mug. Coffee, cappuccino, hot chocolate and light refreshments will be served.

An honors graduate of Johns Hopkins University, Ahdoot began his career as a comedian right after graduation and performs regularly at comedy clubs in Manhattan. His act is based on his hilarious observations about everyday life as a young, hip kid living in New York City, coupled with his upbringing as a first-generation American. His stage presence blends charm, likability and wit in a way that keeps the crowd in stitches and, at the same time, very comfortable.

A finalist on Season Two of NBC’s “Last Comic Standing,” Ahdoot is a staff writer for MTV’s “Short Circuitz.” He has also written for Comedy Central’s “Crank Yankers” and has been featured on Comedy Central’s “Premium Blend” and ABC’s “20/20.”

Ahdoot has opened for comedians Jay Mohr, Lewis Black and Patton Oswalt and is a regular on the Sirius Satellite Radio show “Unleashed.” He has also taken first prize in the Philadelphia Comedy Competition and the NYC Triad Comedy Competition.

Samples of Ahdoot’s comedy act are available online at www.standupdan.com and www.myspace.com/standupdan.
