Comedienne to Highlight ASU Club Café

Angelo State University’39;s Club Café coffee house entertainment series will showcase the hilarious talents of young comedienne Retta Wednesday, Feb. 27, in the ASU Houston Harte University Center.

Retta will take the stage at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 27 in the University Center’s C.J. Davidson Conference Center. Admission price is $1 and all those who attend will receive a free Club Café coffee mug. Coffee, cappuccino, hot chocolate and light refreshments will be served.

A native of Newark, N.J., Retta graduated from Duke University and tried her hand at pharmaceutical research before moving to Los Angeles to become a comedienne. Over the past five years she has performed in all 50 states entertaining audiences with her stories about family, friends and those not-so-happy people working at popular fast-food chains.

Retta’s comedic stylings have also been displayed on her TV special "Comedy Central Presents: Retta" and "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno." She has also appeared in the movies "Slackers" and "Dickie Roberts – Former Child Star."
