Mission Statement
It is the mission of the disability support services program to support the educational mission of the university by working to improve the educational development of students with disabilities at Angelo State University by encouraging students to develop skills which will help produce the following outcomes:
- communicating effectively,
- conducting realistic self-appraisals,
- enhancing levels of self-esteem,
- making appropriate career choices,
- working independently and collaboratively,
- becoming a self-advocate, and
- achieving personal goals.
In addition, the program works to enhance the understanding and support of students with disabilities within the campus community. In accomplishing this mission, the program works to ensure that qualified students with disabilities have equal access to all institutional programs and services, and advocates responsibly for the needs of students with disabilities.
