Information Technology strives to provide exceptional service to our campus community, and mobile technologies are no exception. The guide below covers the main areas to consider when selecting a mobile device to connect to the ASU e-mail system.

Mobile Operating System (OS)

Information Technology has standardized on mobile devices that run one of the following OS platforms:

  1. BlackBerry OS (Version 4.2 or later)
  2. Apple's iPhone OS (Version 2 or later)
  3. Windows Mobile OS (Version 5 or later)

The OS platforms above are supported in conjunction with the ASU e-mail system. The device chosen will depend on individual needs as well as what is offered by the phone service providers.

Information Technology’s Involvement

IT assists in the initial setup of supported mobile devices to the ASU e-mail system. IT does not support third party applications or hardware problems for any devices. If problems are experienced that are not related to sending and receiving e-mail on a mobile device, it is the responsibility of the user to contact their service provider for support. The owner agrees that the university and its employees are not liable for any lack of functionality or data loss, either direct or indirect.

Listed below are the recommended device types that have been tested and approved for use in conjunction with the ASU e-mail system. Please purchase one of the recommended data plans below to ensure the device is compatible with the ASU e-mail system.
